  17. <p>    Whose life is it anyway? Randall Dale Adams, released from
  18. a Texas prison in March, wants the courts to decide. When he was
  19. set free after serving 12 1/2 years, it was largely owing to
  20. Errol Morris, whose movie The Thin Blue Line uncovered
  21. exonerating evidence. Adams sold the rights for $10 in 1986, and
  22. though still grateful to the filmmaker, is suing to determine
  23. who owns them now. "Am I indentured to Morris for the rest of
  24. my life?" he asks. The bespectacled Morris denies blocking Adams
  25. from future profits. And the film is no Batman. Laments Morris:
  26. "I'm still paying off bills."
